18th July 2009  -  Torksey to Hull
Slipped Torksey at just before 0700hrs, gentle cruise down river, through Gainsborough and pressed on down through Keadby at low water!

Anchored at Trent Falls for short period while the tide turned (and more importantly - lunch!) then cruised out on to the Humber with the intention of reaching Grimsby in plenty of time for locking in. (HW +/- 2hrs)

Anchored at Trent End - Not on our own!          It was all going so well!!!
It was all going so well, we had plenty of water (although fighting the tide) and we were on track to make Grimsby in plenty of time......too good to be true!

We lost power in the starboard engine,  revs died completely!  Initial checks in the rather warm engine room didn't result in any obvious issues.

At this time we were suspecting a fuel issue so again, as always seems the case on this trip down stream, and with only one engine we resigned to locking into Hull to try and identify the problem.

Single Engine Running :-(
Waiting for the lock keeper!   (Hull) Still smiling :-)
Keep a good hold on that rope Andy! Safely alongside on the waiting pontoon (inside marina)
So after some investigations ......

We had our Volvo Engineer change all our fuel pipes before we departed (to meet the requirements of the boat safety certificate) and it transpires that there was a lose union on the water separator prior to the injector pump.

This was rectified and we hope (fingers crossed) that this problem is now sorted!  We will be departing Hull Marnina at 0300hrs tomorrow morning for a short blast down to Grimsby to get us back on track.

Two days in and that feeling of exhaustion and tiredness that I recall from last years trip is kicking in! - or it could be the alcohol ;-)
