1st August 2009  -  Ramsgate
I was first up (as usual) at 0630hrs and had a stroll up onto the harbour wall to see what the sea state looked like, gusty winds were not making me feel very optimistic but it didn't look too bad considering.  Next I wandered over to the fuelling station and here lay our first problem - as Ramsgate marina is so full some bright spark in a cruiser had moored up for the night on the fuel barge and there was no sign of life so we would not be able to fuel at 0700hrs.

There didn't seem any point in waking Eric or Andy so I had a walk round the marina pondering (again!) what was the best course of action.  I hadn't had a very good nights sleep so I wasn't overly keen on heading out into a moderate sea, especially as our Paris war wounds involve bungee cords now securing the radar mast (due to eroded screws from sea water), broken trim tabs, leaking gearbox oil and if we experience any heavy bouncing we are leaking water into the forward cabin! - and that's not including all the Gaffa tape that is now covering every single gap or join up on the fly bridge to ensure any sea water over the fly bridge is kept out of the saloon and helm!

After much deliberation and discussions over options with Eric and Andy the decision was made to stay put in Ramsgate today, further more I need to be back at work on Monday therefore I will be abandoning ship tomorrow, along with Andy to catch a train home.  Eric will stay with Sanity until he has some crew to make the final passage legs to Lowestoft, Grimsby and finally Farndon.

The rest of the day for me was spent catching up on this Blog, I do apologise for not keeping on top of this!  We also managed to clean some of the salt off the boat and take a trip over to the fuel barge in the early evening to top up the tanks.
